Our Story

Rebekah and Dirk Standing side by side out front of Papa's cabin.

When I started this company as a young boy in 2012, all I wanted to do was create with my hands. I got into wood working because my great grandfather, Papa, was a talented wood carver who similarly had a desire to use his gifts for the Lord. His shop, which was an old wooden cabin that he built himself, is where I first developed the gift of Chokmah - the Hebrew word for creational wisdom given from the Lord. I spent an exorbitant amount of hours in that cabin at all hours of the day and night drafting, creating, measuring, over and over again pressing into the gift of Chokmah.

That nostalgic cabin still sits on his property in Searcy, Arkansas and is featured in our logo. There are many other sprinkles of his legacy throughout the company. The names of some of the products are the names of his grandchildren. And some of the tools I use every day have his initials carved into the handles.

“I pray that He continues to use these lowly hands of mine to bless others and carry on my Papa’s legacy.”

I didn't make much money at the beginning, but I found something spiritual about using my hands to create something useful and beautiful. Creating things helped me process the world, its hardships, and my struggle with mental illness. Every moment in that old wooden cabin creating, God was crafting my soul and he continues to do so everytime I step into the shop. Part of the blessing of creational wisdom (Chokmah) is that my hands have been cut and calloused for as long as I can remember. I pray that He continues to use these lowly hands of mine to bless others and carry on my Papa’s legacy.

Our Promise

Dirk and Rebekah
“So whatever you do, work at it with all your soul, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

COLOSSIANS 3:23

Soulcraft Goods was never just a hobby or business, but rather an extension of our family’s mission. Colossians 3:23 says “So whatever you do, work at it with all your soul, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This means that whatever we do (fire fighting, leatherwork, skating, etc.), we do it for the Lord. And therefore, we strive for excellence. We have become used to buying things that have the illusion of quality and when they wear out or tatter, we quickly throw them away. We make goods that are built to last. And that’s why we offer a lifetime guarantee, because we want you to have something you are proud of that you can carry with you every day. In the same way that I still have my great grandfather’s tools and many of his handmade items, we hope that you value and cherish your Soulcraft product for generations to come.

Our Heart

Dirk and a group of children from Compassion International

We desire to multiply the blessings we have received from God to care for the poor and needy. Matthew 25:40 says “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”. When we care for people in need, we are directly honoring God. Every year Soulcraft Goods gives 10% of net sales to Compassion International whose mission is to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. We have also been able to sponsor two students through Compassion International that we have seen grow up into fine young men through the years.

10% Annual net sales donated to Compassion International

We have gone on several mission trips over the years and both found that there was something ignited in us while serving and caring for others. In the midst of caring for people that had less than us, God had a way of revealing our own selfishness and need for Him. That might be the best part of giving, that it turns our affections towards the giver of all. Thank you for partnering with our heart for Soulcraft Goods.
